MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE
EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 10, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's won the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, defending their home turf at Morgan Track Sunday. The weekend was epic all-around for the Mountaineers, as the women earned a runner-up title, with one individual breaking a school record.
The men won in dominating fashion, earning 183.5 points and capturing the crown by 76.5 points over runner-up Rider. This title is their first as a MAAC institution, and first as a program since winning the 2018 Northeast Conference championship. It also marks the fifth Division I championship, joining title winning campaigns in 1991, 1996, 1997, and 2018.
Camryn Jones-Howard had the best individual performance on the day, setting the school and MAAC championship record in the women's triple jump, leaping for a distance of 12.55 meters. Her teammate
Madelyn Valpy also excelled, taking second place with 12.48 meters, which also surpassed the previous MAAC championship mark.
Jacey Hentz also contributed points, coming in sixth at 12.12 meters.
Jones-Howard was named Women's Most Valuable Performer for the Meet.
Joshua Dean was Men's Track Most Oustanding Performer,
Aidan Crawford earned Men's Field Rookie of the Meet, and
Alena Murray earned Women's Track Rookie of the Meet. Dean and Murray were top three finishers for the 100 and 200 meter dashes, earning three runner-up spots and a third place finish. The freshman duo also paired on point-scoring relay teams, including Dean running the winning 4x100 time of 41.46 seconds. Crawford took third in the javelin and sixth in the discus.
Abdulazeez Iyiola also had a spectacular meet, setting the MAAC Championship record for the 400 hurdles. His time of 52.17 seconds ranks third in Mount program history. Iyiola won two more events, taking the 110 hurdles with a personal best 14.27 seconds that is fourth in program history, and helping the 4x400 relay take the title at 3:13.11.
Joining Dean in the 4x100 relay were
Lucas Koon-Perez,
Kalani Pu'uloa, and
Garrett Wilkerson. Iyiola's contemporaries in the 4x400 were
Harrison Akoarrey, Pu'uloa, and Wilkerson.
Several more Mountaineers secured podium finishes.
Maeve Parrish finished runner-up in the 800 meters, running a personal best of 2:11.41 – the third best time in program history.
Marta Gonzalez Alvarez also took second, throwing 42.50 meters in the discus.
Dante Elliot was second in the men's high jump, reaching 2.05 meters, while
Rebecca Weir captured second herself at 1.65 meters.
Nando Meggs was the runner-up for the long jump, reaching 7.18 meters. In the men's triple jump,
Bruno Rivera Borrallo finished second at 14.57 meters, followed by
Atebeh Awungjia at 14.32 meters. Wilkerson came third in the 400 meters, earning a personal best time of 46.86 seconds, a time that stands fourth best in Mount history.

Qualified Mount St. Mary's track & field athletes have a chance to continue their seasons later this month at the NCAA East Championships First Round in Lexington, Kentucky.
