Falconer Sets Personal Best at NCAA Finals, Earns Honorable Mention All-American Honor

EUGENE, Ore. (June 10, 2026) – On the biggest stage for a collegiate javelin thrower, Mount St. Mary's sophomore Brandon Falconer set a personal best on his third and final try at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His distance of 69.33 meters was good for 17th place, earning an Honorable Mention All-American honor.

Competing fourth in the first flight, the sophomore opened with a 58.44 meter throw. He made a quick ascension on throw two, reaching 68.51 meters and moving to the middle of the pack for his flight. The third try went further still, besting his previous personal best of 69.02 meters, set at the 2025 Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.

He finished fifth in that first flight, then waited for the results of the next flight, featuring the top ranked javelin throwers in the country. When all was said and done, Falconer stood as the leading member of the Honorable Mention group.

Falconer was the first Mount St. Mary's athlete to compete at the NCAA Finals since Brian Sagendorf in 2021. Both Sagendorf and Kelly Yanucil, the last female qualifier (2016), also threw the javelin.
