
Welcome to the Mount St. Mary's University Athletic Department Sports Nutrition Webpage! Here at the Mount we care about not only our student athlete performance but also their overall wellbeing as Mount students. Our approach is to support our athletes by providing evidence-based nutrition education to fuel their individual performance needs and to better understand the changing energy/calorie requirements that are adequate to meet the physical demands of their sport. We desire for every athlete to be well fueled and hydrated for the next bout of physical activity which will decrease their risk for injury and illness and improve recovery.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Mount Athletics Sports Nutrition program supports the wellbeing of student-athletes through love and respect by helping athletes develop a healthy relationship with food to fuel their mind, body and spirit to lead lives of significance at the Mount and beyond.

- One-on-one consultations with student-athletes
- Medical Nutrition Therapy
- Grocery store tours
- Mealtime food selection
- Training table: student athlete only dinner experience Tuesday’s 6-7pm at the O’Hara Dining RoomÂ
- Fueling station management and coordination (Pre Workout) | (Post Workout)
- Supports team efforts with collaboration with coaches, trainers, and support staff
