MOUNT NUTRITION PAGE

Lindsey Field, MS, RDN, LD, joined the Mount St. Mary’s University athletic department as the Sports Dietitian in 2017 and is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Science. She teaches courses in Nutrition and Lifestyles for Science and non-Science majors, Exercise Science, and Anatomy and Physiology courses.

Lindsey attended Texas A&M University and received her Bachelors and Master of Science degrees in Nutritional Science in 2004 and 2011, respectively. She completed her dietetic internship with Yale-New Haven Hospital, an affiliate of Yale Medical School, in 2006. Lindsey is an active member of CPSDA (Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy).

Lindsey achieved her Level One Anthropometrist certification through ISAK (International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry) in 2021. This valuable skillset has assisted both the athlete and Lindsey to design an individualized nutrition program to help the athlete achieve a specific body composition to reach performance goals. She provides a holistic approach that values student athlete well-being. Athletes are provided with evidence-based nutrition education that focuses on their individual needs to meet the demands of their sport. Proper fuel, hydration and recovery recommendations are considered to decrease the risk of injury and illness among student athletes.

Lindsey has worked in a wide range of settings, including serving as an in-patient clinical dietitian and a project coordinator for the Institute for Obesity Research and Program Evaluation with Texas A&M AgriLife Research. Before coming to the Mount, she secured a competitive position as the Abbott Nutrition Malnutrition Research Fellow for the Academy and Academy Foundation, where she served as the project coordinator for the Malnutrition Clinical Characteristic Validation Pilot Study.

Lindsey is married to her husband, Layton, an Associate Professor at the Mount in the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. Together they have six children.
