NEW YORK, N.Y. (July 28, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's rising senior Annie Carey came away with two gold medals after competing at the 2026 Toyota United States of America Track & Field (USATF) Para National Championships at Ichan Stadium in New York City. Carey took gold in her division of the 200 meter race and silver in the long jump.
 
In the 200m final, she earned a time of 28.97 seconds to lead her division and take the gold. Her long jump distance of 4.89 meters finished third overall among the eight divisions grouped together in the Ambulatory Final. Carey also earned a time of 14.05 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
 
This past weekend's result is the largest in a string of successes for Carey, including the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France and the 2025 Para World Championships. At the end of 2025, she was named USA Track & Field Toyota Para Female Athlete of the Year.
 
Carey competed during the Mount's indoor and outdoor seasons, including the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.
