EMMITSBURG, Md. (December 5, 2025) –
Annie Carey continues to earn accolades, earning the Toyota Para Female Athlete of the Year honor from the United States Track & Field Association (USATF).
Competing at her first Para World Championships in India earlier this year, Carey exited New Delhi with a world record, two American records, and two medals – one gold and one silver. She broke her own world record for the long jump, earning a distance of 5.20 meters. Her medals came in dash events, taking the gold for the 200m final at 27.31 seconds – an American record – and silver in the 100m at 13.45 seconds.
The Boise, Idaho product competes in the T44 Bracket. Along with the Para World Championships in 2025, she competed for the United States in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France and the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Carey begins her third season of competition for Mount St. Mary's with the indoor track & field campaign, kicking off this weekend in meets at Bucknell at Navy.
