EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 26, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer hits the road for the sixth time this season, hoping for a positive outcome in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) meeting against Manhattan.
MOUNT UPDATE
Suffering their first setback at home this season, the Mount fell to Niagara by a 2-1 final.
Cassidy Nichols recorded the tally for the team, keeping her in the top 10 among MAAC competitors.
Abigail Makela finished with six saves in the defeat.
One of the goals for the team heading into Saturday is to earn a positive result on the road. In the previous five contests, they stand 0-5 and have allowed 25 goals across those games. In their most recent road game,
Taylor Simmons prevented Quinnipiac from recording a clean sheet with a second half score.
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Manhattan seeks to stack wins in the MAAC after coming off a 2-0 victory over Iona for their first conference win. The team so far produced positive results in six of nine matches between wins and draws. Built to hold the line on the defensive end, the Jaspers have 14 concessions this year with the duo of Molly Brunk and Juliana Mosca combining for 31 saves. Kaylee Stowell leads in the goal count with three, including both game winners.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday will serve as the Mount's fourth opportunity to pick up a win over Manhattan. Since joining the MAAC, the Mountaineers have produced two draws with the Jaspers while Manhattan earned a 1-0 victory in 2023.
LOOKING AHEAD
Another midweek contest takes place at Waldron Family Stadium, where the team hosts Rider on Wednesday, October 1.
