EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 24, 2025) – By a 2-1 margin, Mount St. Mary's dropped their first home contest of 2025, falling to the Niagara Purple Eagles Wednesday.
Cassidy Nichols posted the Mount's goal for the match, increasing her team lead to four for the season. That total is good for the fourth most in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), matching Fairfield's Ashley McMahon. Coming in the 16
th minute, the goal came off assists by
Erin Antone and
Lillian Young. Antone earned her second of the year, and Young her first.
Niagara struggled to capitalize on shot chances for most of the first half before breaking through in the closing minutes as Baillie Colling struck in the 44
th minute. The momentum boosted Colling to post the game-winner three minutes into the second half.

Abigail Makela finished with six saves in a busy day at the net.
The Mountaineers fall to 3-6 and 1-2 in MAAC play and are now 3-1 in matches at Waldron Family Stadium.
On Saturday (Sept. 27), the Mount will face Manhattan on the Jaspers' turf for a noon kickoff.
