EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 22, 2025) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play comes back to Waldron Family Stadium this Wednesday as Mount St. Mary's women's soccer hosts Niagara.
MOUNT UPDATE
Traveling up to Hamden, Connecticut last weekend, the Mount fell 5-1 to the Quinnipiac Bobcats.
Taylor Simmons scored her second goal of the season along the way, with an assist coming from
Ines Gama Ferreira. With the defeat, the Mount's record continues to be divided between a 3-0 mark at home and a 0-5 mark on the road.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE EAGLES
Niagara seeks their first MAAC win, falling to Saint Peter's and Siena but earning a 2-2 draw with Quinnipiac. Caitlyn Gratton is the primary goal scorer for the Purple Eagles with six of the team's 13 tallies. Julia Poissant is the team's keeper, logging 32 saves so far this season.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Over four meetings between the Mount and Niagara, the Purple Eagles have two victories to the Mountaineers' one. The fourth meeting was also taken by the Mount, prevailing in the MAAC Tournament on penalties in late October 2023.

On Saturday (Sept. 27), Mount St. Mary's travels to face Manhattan for a noon kickoff.
