EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 9, 2025) – Back home this Saturday, Mount St. Mary's women's soccer looks to pick up a victory by battling Iona at Waldron Family Stadium.

MOUNT UPDATE

Facing perennial powerhouse Fairfield proved too much for the Mountaineers this past Wednesday, as they suffered a 4-0 defeat. The Mount enters Saturday's match looking to end a lengthy scoring drought that dates to September 24, when Cassidy Nichols scored in the first half against Niagara. Nichols continues to lead the team offensively with 10 points.

SCOUTING THE GAELS

Iona enters Emmitsburg on a strong run, picking up wins over Saint Peter's and Niagara, followed by a draw with Rider. With eight points in the standings, the Gaels sit four points outside of a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament spot. Dolene Smith leads Iona with five goals, while a trio of goalkeepers has combined to notch 52 saves, 24 of them by Savannah Rogers.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

In five all-time meetings, the Mount holds a 1-2-2 record against Iona. Since joining the MAAC, the Mountaineers have gone winless against the Gaels, recording two losses and one draw.

LOOKING AHEAD

Mount St. Mary's will travel to Buffalo for a midweek matchup against Canisius on Wednesday, October 15, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
