EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 3, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer looks to get back into the win column Saturday when they host Sacred Heart at Waldron Family Stadium.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE

Snapping a three-game losing streak, the Mount earned a 0-0 draw against Rider this past Wednesday. Abigail Makela made five saves to secure the clean sheet, including a leaping stop in the 79th minute. At the halfway point of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) season, Mount St. Mary's sits at four points and is currently in 11th place in the league.
 
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
 
Sacred Heart is off to a 4-2 start in MAAC play and comes to Emmitsburg riding a two-game win streak, with victories over Rider and Canisius. The Pioneers feature a dynamic scoring duo in Shea Kelleher and Morgan Bovardi, who have each tallied six goals. In goal, Kyran Thievon leads the team with 48 saves.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
 
Dating back to their days as Northeast Conference foes, Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart have met 25 times. SHU has doubled the Mount's win total, 16-8, but the Mountaineers have won the past two meetings by identical 3-1 scores in 2021 and 2024.

The Mount hits the road for a midweek showdown at Fairfield on Wednesday, Oct. 8, with kickoff set for 4 p.m.
