Mountaineers Drop Road Contest to Fairfield

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 8, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer fell on Wednesday to the Fairfield Stags by a 4-0 final at Lessing Field.
 
The Stags scored twice in each half, beginning with a 15th-minute goal by Ashlyn Walsh. Kelly O'Connor, Ashley McMahon, and Maddy Theriault also found the back of the net for Fairfield. Mountaineers goalkeeper Abigail Makela recorded four saves on the night.
 
Half of the Mount's shots were on target, with Peyton Gallagher, Ines Gama Ferreira, and Taylor Simmons each registering one shot on goal.
 
With the loss, the Mountaineers now stand at 3-9-1 overall and 1-6-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
 
Mount St. Mary's returns to Emmitsburg to host Iona this Saturday (Oct. 11). Kickoff is set for noon at Waldron Family Stadium.
