EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 25, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's outdoor track completed their regular season at Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational and Saint Francis' Red Flash Open.
Brandon Falconer won the men's javelin at Louisville, earning a NCAA qualification distance.
Jacey Hentz led the way in the women's pole vault and
Lorelai Paxton led in the women's javelin. Both 4x400 relay teams also shined.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Falconer finished with a javelin distance of 68.56 meters to win the event. The mark is top 40 nationwide and leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Teammate Thomas Lloyd finished second with 62.02 meters, and Brad Lee Jones was fourth with 57.44 meters.
- Hentz won the pole vault at 3.82 meters, jumping to the top mark in the MAAC. The distance was good to tie for third all-time in program history.
- Paxton was the winner of the women's javelin, earning 43.37 meters for a personal best. She elevated her position in the Mount's record books, now possessing the fourth best time among Mountaineers. Tierney McCaroll finished third in the javelin at Louisville.
- Alena Murray is now third all-time in the 100m dash, finishing .02 seconds off the 1990 record set by Barbara Witola.
- Abdulazeez Iyiola improved on his MAAC leading 110 hurdles to 14.39 seconds, good for fourth best in program history. His time of 54.50 in the 400 hurdles moves him to fourth on the conference list.
- The 4x400 relay teams excelled and moved up the MAAC leaderboard. The women's team of Alexis Zimmerman, Maeve Parrish, Alexe Gauthier, and Murray now lead the MAAC after running the race in 3:52.05. The men's team of Harrison Akoarrey, Iyiola, Kalani Pu'uloa, and Mateo Berrera ran the event in 3:16.83 which is second best in the conference.
- Seven members of the team won their respective events. Along with Falconer, Hentz, and Paxton were four winners from the Red Flash Open. Annie Carey won the long jump at 5.15 meters, Joseph Berry in the 100m at 11.01 seconds, Sara Taylor in the 100m at 12.81 seconds, and Nico DiGiacomo in the 110 hurdles with 16.38 seconds.
