EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 20, 2026) – Both the Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse teams and the Merrimack Warriors come to Waldron Family Stadium Saturday in search of their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) of 2026.
MOUNT UPDATE
- Facing two tough challengers in Marist and Sacred Heart, the Mount fell by scores of 16-9 and 17-9. Last Saturday versus the Pioneers, the Mount was outscored 9-3 in the second half. Individual highlights from the game include 17 saves from Bennett Wright and four goals from Aidan Kilduff.
- Kevin Whitty leads the MAAC for assists per game, tied with Siena's Patrick Radomski with 2.43 per game, or 17 for the year. Brody Atkinson remains the team's leading offensive weapon for goals, also with 17, ranking second in the MAAC at 2.83 per game.
- Nicolas Belmonte set a career high for faceoff wins with 15 against Sacred Heart. Saturday's game marked the second time the team won the faceoff battle this year, joining the Monmouth contest on February 28.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK
- Merrimack dropped its last five games, with the first two MAAC games coming in agonizing fashion. The Warriors conceded five to Sacred Heart in a 12-10 loss and fell in overtime to Marist 10-9 last Saturday.
- Colin Kruger has 23 points, leading the Warriors with 19 goals. Alystair Hemberger has the most assists with eight.
- Leading faceoff specialist Daniel Bezrutchenko has 99 wins in 189 tries this season.
ALL-TIME SERIES
- Merrimack leads the series 2-1, but the Mount picked their first win over the Warriors last year with a 13-12 score this past April.
