EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 14, 2026) – A tight contest between Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse and Sacred Heart made it into the third quarter before the visiting Pioneers pulled away to take the contest over the Mountaineers, 17-9.
Aidan Kilduff was the leading scorer for the Mount, scoring four times.
Brody Atkinson added a hat trick for the second time in as many games.
Bennett Wright ended with 17 saves for the afternoon. On the opposing side, Craig Daria recorded 20 saves for the Pioneers.
With the defeat, the Mount is 1-6 and 0-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Sacred Heart remains unblemished at 7-0.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Chris Grimaldi got the first goal of the game, giving the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead. After Sacred Heart built a 4-2 lead, goals by Owen Fasulka and Atkinson knotted the game at four apiece.
- Atkinson scored twice in the second quarter, keeping the Mount in the contest as they trailed 7-6 at halftime.
- With the score 9-7 midway through the third, Sacred Heart cemented the victory with a 6-0 run extending into the fourth quarter. Kilduff earned his hat trick with add-on goals after the game was decided.
