EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 5, 2026) – On Saturday, Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse begins Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a road game at Marist.
MOUNT UPDATE
- The Mountaineers fell to the Monmouth Hawks, 14-5, last weekend in their non-conference finale. Brody Atkinson recorded a hat trick in the game.
- Atkinson tied Chris Grimaldi for the most goals among the Mountaineers with nine. Kevin Whitty leads in points with 16, thanks to his 13 assists.
- Sean Center-Wilhelm and Dylan Sander are tied for the most caused turnovers with four each. Conner Aquino has the most ground balls with 22. Bennett Wright has 57 saves and a .471 save percentage.
- Mount St. Mary's was projected to finish fifth in the MAAC preseason poll, and is looking to improve on a 2-6 record from a year ago.
SCOUTING THE RED FOXES
- Marist is 2-2 entering league play, earning wins against Binghamton and Air Force along the way. The two victories are part of a winning streak.
- Sean Mullan is by far the top offensive player for the Red Foxes with 15 goals and four assists.
- Richie Metzger has 44 saves as the leading goalie and Aiden McCaffrey has the most caused turnovers with six.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Mount St. Mary's has a 15-10 lead over Marist in the all-time series. However, the Red Foxes are on a three-game win streak including a win in the 2023 MAAC Tournament.
