EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 29, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's cross country hosted their home meet to kick off the 2025 season, earning a fifth place finish for the men and seventh for the women at the Mount 5K Duals.
The men's side were led by the duo of
EJ Villaver and
Nicholas Willis, who crossed the finish line within a second of each other. Villaver crossed at 17:05.68 followed by Willis at 17:06.75. After them,
Duke Ebert finished in 17:21.46,
Evan DeVoe in 17:23.55, and
Diego Herrera in 17:31.82 to complete team scoring.
Chloe McCarthy – running cross country for the first time in two years – paced the women's side with a time of 19:51.31. Fellow teammates factoring into the scoring were
Alyssa Pongracz at 20:23.78,
Riley Bell at 21:07.10,
Isabella Pla at 21:35.78, and
Audrey Musmeci at 22:34.43.
UMBC won the men's race in a clean 1-5 sweep while Delaware took the women's race with 30 points. Daniel Danilovitz and Alexis Tepper of UMBC took individual honors.
Mount St. Mary's charts a new course September 13 with the Cantello Invitational, hosted by Navy. Races begin at 9:45 a.m. from Annapolis.
