NEW MARKET, VA (September 25, 2026) – Jack Nebbia as an individual and the Mount St. Mary's women's team earned second place finishes at Friday's JMU XC Invitational in the New Market Battlefield in the Shenandoah Valley.
 
Nebbia finished the 8k race in 26:51.1, averaging 5:24.1 per mile. He improved his 8k time by 29 seconds from last week's Stevenson Invitational.
 
The women's team second place finish was paced by the duo of Riley Bell and Audrey Musmeci. Bell ran the 5k race in 21:34.0 to earn nine points and an 11^th place showing, and Musmeci earned 10 points and 12^th place with a 21:42.3.
 
Back on the men's side, Gio Medrano (27:40.9) and EJ Villaver (28:12.6) each earned top ten finishes with respective sixth and ninth place efforts.
 
Rounding out the points for the women's team were Katelynn Odums (22:47.8, 15^th), Ella Swart (23:22.8, 17^th), and Shannon Polun (24:32.0, 18^th).
 
On October 17, Mount St. Mary's competes in their final cross country meet of the regular season, participating in Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational.
