EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 3, 2025) – The 2025 Larry Ellis Invitational, held May 2–3 at Princeton University, featured strong performances from Mount St. Mary's track & field across a variety of events.
Freshman
Donovan Harrington achieved a personal best in the long jump with a leap of 7.17 meters, placing 9th overall. His mark stands as the top long jump in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this season. In the 800 meters, junior
Maeve Parrish ran 2:13.97, a time that currently ranks third in the MAAC.
Senior
Caleb Nelson competed with Harrington in the long jump, recording 6.61 meters. In field events, freshman
Brad Lee Jones finished 5th in the javelin with a mark of 53.51 meters and junior
Jackson Huddleson threw 47.21 meters in the hammer throw, earning 14th place. On the track, freshman
Samuel Serrano Borrego recorded a time of 3:52.59 in the 1500 meters.
The women's team also made notable efforts. Sophomore
Madelyn Valpy placed 11th in the long jump with a mark of 5.52 meters, followed closely by sophomore
Jacey Hentz, who jumped 5.47 meters. In the javelin, junior
Tierney McCarroll led the way with a throw of 41.42 meters, while junior
Rebecca Weir added a mark of 35.73 meters.
With the regular season wrapped up, Mount St. Mary's now turns its attention to the MAAC Championships, which begin May 10 in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
