EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 19, 2025) – Outdoor season begins for Mount St. Mary's track & field with their annual trip to Mrytle Beach, S.C. to compete in Coastal Carolina's Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
MOUNT UPDATE: For postseason play, the Mountaineers earned top 10 finishes across the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the IC4A/ECAC Championships. The men's side took fourth place finishes at both meets, and the women took fourth at MAAC's and seventh at ECAC's. Abdoulaye Bah set a record for the men's 200 at the IC4A with a 21.34 second performance, while
Arran Fahey and Emilie Beckman set record at the conference championships for the pole vault. Fahey eclipsed the men's record at 5.16 meters, while Beckman broke the mark at 4.00 meters. The latter upped the mark to 4.05 meters at the ECAC Championships.
2024 SHAMROCK INVITATIONAL: Both sides earned seventh place finishes at last year's event.
Elizabeth Freymann won the 800m event, collecting a time of 2:14.87.
Keighan DeCoff and
Rebecca Weir took runner-up efforts in their respective performances for the discus and the javelin. There were numerous other top five finishes among individual and relay events.
MAAC PRESEASON POLL: In the poll released by the conference on Wednesday, the Mount's men finished in third place and the women are in fourth. The men's team received 81 points and a first place vote from the 10 coaches while the women earned 100 points among 12 coaches.
UP NEXT: On March 28 and 29, the team will compete at meets hosted by Towson and Navy.
