EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 24, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's track & field earned a clean sweep for weekly awards from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on Tuesday. The awards are sponsored by Jersey Mike's.
Alena Murray swept the Women's Track and Rookie of the Week honors while
Rebecca Weir won Women's Field Athlete of the Week. On the men's side,
Garrett Wilkerson won Track Athlete of the Week,
Ethan Demeter won Field Athlete of the Week, and
Thomas Lloyd won Rookie Athlete of the Week. All earned honors after their efforts at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Lloyd ranks the highest nationally for his event, ranking 21
st in the country after a javelin throw of 64.68 meters. The mark placed fourth on the Mount's all-time list and fourth for the event.
Ethan Demeter ranks 26
th in the country for the pole vault after winning the event at the Shamrock, soaring to 5.11 meters.
All marks rank either first or second for their events and most placed on the school's top 10 list. Demeter's distance is the third-best in program history. Weir placed fourth for the women's javelin list after her throw of 44.44 meters. Murray is tied for eighth all-time for the 100 meters after running the event in 12.04 meters and contributed to the 4x200 relay team earning a third-best time of 1:41.91. Wilkerson's time of 47.63 seconds in the 400 meters ranks eighth in program history
Members of the team travel to the Navy Outdoor Invitational and Lafayette's Leopard Invitational.
