EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 9, 2025) – Led by
Bah Abdoulaye and his victory in the 200 meter dash, Mount St. Mary's track & field brought several accomplishments back to Emmitsburg following meets at Penn State and Liberty.
Neither meet was affected by team scoring.
Abdoulaye won the 200 meter with a time of 21.65 seconds, bolstering his name to the top of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) performance list. The sophomore also placed sixth in the 60 dash finals (6.90 seconds) and was part of the fourth place 4x400 relay team along with
Daniel Reader, Lucas Koon Perez, and
Gunnar Williams (3:21.21).
The pole vaulting duo of
Emelie Beckman and
Julia Kirschnick shined once again. Beckman's 3.85 meters is good for second in the MAAC, and Kirschnick's mark of 3.70 meters is fourth best. Both finished top five at Penn State.
Rebecca Weir stands third in the league for the high jump at 1.65 meters,
Maeve Parrish (800, 2:15.90) and
Will Stephenson (60H, 8.29 seconds) rank fourth, and
Daniel Reader is fifth for the 400 meters at 49.47 seconds.
Numerous Mountaineers also earned top 10 placements for their events –
Arran Fahey,
Tyler Cash,
Ethan Demeter,
Donovan Harrington,
Nando Meggs, Najhanyne Watson,
Nesrine Charouel,
Madelyn Valpy, and
Simone Smith.
Several top 10 finishes occurred at Liberty, led by a second places showing of 3.40 meters in the pole vault by
Evyn Fitzgerald and a third place showing by
Caleb Nelson in the triple jump, achieving a mark of 14.24 meters.
Jaidyn Wiseley was sixth for the high jump, attaining 1.57 meters.
Ella Dougher finished ninth in the pole vault at 3.37 meters, with
Jada Creager also taking ninth in her section at 3.10 meters.
Camryn Jones-Howard took 10
th in the long jump at 5.54 meters.
One final regular season meet awaits the Mountaineers before the MAAC Championships. It will be a return trip to Liberty for the Darius Dixon Invitational over Valentine's Day Weekend.
