EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (December 6, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming and diving dominated the first two days of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Winter Championships on December 5-6, with the men ending Saturday in fourth place with 700 points and the women ending Saturday with 793.5 points in fourth place.
On Friday, the women's relay team of
Eve Phillips,
Theodora Kanellopoulou,
Madison Murphy, and
Christina Lazari placed first in the women's 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:34.72, winning their first of three events on the women's side of the meet.
Carmen Del Aguila placed first the women's 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:51.64. And the relay team of Lazari, Del Aguila, Phillips, and
Hanna Aggen won the women's 400-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:48.18.
The men's relay team of
Adam Jozsa,
Lucas Hancock,
Parker Koenig, and
Austin Toland placed first men's 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:20.54 on Friday, setting a new ECAC record.
Todor Gospodinov also placed first on Friday in the men's 200-Yard IM with a finals time of 1:49.21.
During Saturday's finals, the women's 200-Yard Medley Relay team of Aggen, Lazari, Kanellopoulou, and Phillips won the event with a time 1:43.57. Del Aguila won the women's 400-Yard IM with a time of 4:24.51. Lazari won the women's 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.83. And Aggen placed second in the women's 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 56.42. The relay team of Del Aguila, Murphy,
Megan Price, and
Lauren Wetzel placed second in the women's 800-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:40.20, dropping 15 seconds off of their previous time.
The men's 200-Yard Medley Relay team of Gospodinov, Jozsa, Koenig, and Toland placed second in the event with a time of 1:29.16. On Saturday, Koenig also won the men's 100-YARD Butterfly with a time of 47.94, setting both a meet and team record in the event. Jozsa placed fourth in the men's 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 54.53 while Gospodinov placed third in the men's 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 48.77.
