EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 10, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming and diving prepare for their first of two home dual-meets of the 2025-26 season on Saturday against the Virginia Military Institute. After the teams scored a combine 608 points at the Patriot Relays on September 26, swim and dive will look to get on the right footing against the Keydets on the eve of their fall schedule.
MOUNT UPDATE
At the Patriot Relays, hosted by American University on September 26, the Mountaineers accumulated over 600 points in relay matchups, with the women finishing in fifth place with 316 points and the men finishing in sixth place with 292 points.
In the women's 200 yard medley relay event, the team of
Hanna Aggen,
Christina Lazari,
Theodora Kanellopoulou, and
Madison Murphy logged a time of 1:47.09, placing fifth amongst the field. The team of
Emily Myers,
Giselle Yanes, and Lazari placed third in the women's 3x100 Yard Breastroke Relay with a time of 3:24.31. And the team of Kanellopoulou, Murphy,
Emily Myers, and
Lauren Wetzel placed third in the 400-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 4:10.14.
And on the men's side, the relay team of
Todor Gospodinov,
Jeff Travers,
John Haskins, and
Nolan Cromwell placed ninth amongst the field with a time of 1:39.59. Ther team of Parker Koening,
Liam Rooney, and
Brendan Moran posted a time 2:41.44 in the men's 3x100 Yard Butterfly relay. And the team of
John Baroody,
Nicholas Cutidioc, and Gospodinov placed fifth in the men's 3x100 Yard Backstroke Relay.
SCOUTING THE KEYDETS
The Virginia Military Institute visited the United States Military Academy, West Point on October 3, with the women's team losing 172-33 and the men's team losing 148-57.
ALL-TIME RECORD
The Mountaineers and the Keydets have met 10 times on the men's side of dual meets, with VMI holding an 8-2 record over the Mount dating back to 2016. Mount St. Mary's women's swimming and diving hold a 20-0 record against VMI, with the streak extending all the way back to 2006.
