EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 11, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming and diving faced off against the visiting VMI Keydets in Emmitsburg on Saturday, with the men losing 221-71 and the women winning 164-129. With their win, the women's team notch their 21
st win in a row against the Virginia Military Institute, a streak that stretches back to 2006.
The relay team of
Hanna Aggen,
Emily Myers,
Eve Phillips, and
Madison Murphy got the day started for the team, winning the women's 200-meter medley relay with a time of 2:01.09. Aggen followed up her part in the relay victory with a first placed finish in the women's 100-meter backstroke, posting an excellent time of 1:05.49 in the event. Phillips posted a time of 27.55 in the women's 50-meter freestyle, winning the event for the Mountaineers.
Lauren Wetzel won the women's 200-meter intermediate race with a time of 2:30.02. And Myers placed first, winning the women's 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:49.20.
Julie Uecker placed fourth in the women's 1-meter diving event, posting a score of 140.85.
On the men's side of the meet,
Adam Jozsa got the day started for the Mountaineers, winning the men's 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04.49.
Todor Gospodinov got his first individual win as a Mountaineer, winning the men's 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:09.50. And the team of Gospodinov,
Parker Koenig,
Austin Toland, and
Lucas Hancock placed a close second place in the men's 200-meter freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:34.60, a tenth of a second off the lead.
