MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
Emmitsburg, Md. (August 30, 2024)—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2024 season by hosting the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals on Friday afternoon. The men's team finished in third place while the women were fourth at the meet.
On the men's side,
EJ Villaver was the Mount's top performer, finishing nineteenth overall with a time of 16:28.81 for the five-kilometer course.
Riley Keffer finished 27
th (16:57.26).
Kevin Zaleski finished 30
th (17:12.40) and right behind
Alex Campagna finished 31
st (17:12.56).
Brandon Smith finished 34
th (17:45.18) rounding out the Mount's top five.
UMBC took home the team title with a perfect 15 points by having the top five finishers in the race. Howard was second with 53 points, followed by Catholic (84), and the Mount (87). Mark Unger of UMBC was the individual winner with a time of 15:14.83.
On the women's side,
Mary Campbell was the Mount's top performer finishing 13
th overall with a time of 20:00.89.
Courtney Dickens finished 19
th (20:30.05) with
Riley Bell finishing 23
rd (20:44.95).
Ellie Dorian (26
th, 21:08.93) and
Isabella Pla (29
th, 21:31.90) rounded out the Mount's top five finishers.
UMBC won the team title for the women as well, finishing with 25 points. Howard was second (33), followed by Catholic (86), and the Mount (99). UMBC's Alexis Tepper was the top performer with a winning time of 18:13.14.
The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, September 7, at the Dutchman XC Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College.
