Box Score EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 12, 2024) – Blasting out of the gate, Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse cruised to a victory over Robert Morris Tuesday afternoon by a 15-6 final.
Anna Salerno and
Madison Harmening paved the way for the offense, earning four goals apiece.
Mackenzi Furlong added in a hat trick and an assist to also earn four points in the game. Furlong also made an impression on defense with a pair of caused turnovers.
Ashlyn Watkins finished with six saves.
Six different Robert Morris players scored in the contest. Colleen Tiftt and Lilli Hadden had two points each by including an assist with their goal.
The Mountaineers opened with the first eight goals of the contest. Jumping out to a 4-0 lead, offense was well distributed with each goal scored by a different player. Harmening scored twice in the second period, helping the Mount carry an 8-1 lead into halftime.
Salerno posted the first two in the second half, and a Lindsay Tolliver score initiated a running clock for a time. The continuous clock reinstated in the fourth quarter as the Mountaineers edged the Colonials 3-2 and 4-3 to win every quarter.
There are 11 days between today's game and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opener at Iona on March 23.
