The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team is back on the court this weekend with a pair of matches. The Mount visits Bucknell on Friday afternoon before heading to Georgetown on Saturday.
MOUNT UPDATE:Â Mount St. Mary's is coming off a 4-1 victory over Howard that moved the team to 3-4 on the season.Â
Filippos Zachiotis is the team leader with seven wins in singles action this year. In doubles action,
Elliot Stevens had a team-best 10 wins with
Victor Mignot tied for second with eight. The doubles pair of Zachiotis and
Jarrett Karnibad are 8-5 as a tandem this year.Â
ABOUT UDC: Bucknell is 3-2 this season after a 6-1 loss to Delaware on February 18. The Bison have 6-1 victories over MAAC members Rider and Siena this year. Tim Zelikovsky is the team's leader with a 14-1 record in singles play while Oscar Bain is 13-5. In doubles, Amar Tahirovic has a team-best 16 wins.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN: Georgetown is 6-3 this season after a 7-0 loss to Virginia Tech on February 18. The Hoyas are led by Jake Fellows, who is 14-3 this season while playing at the No. 1 singles position. Zamaan Moledina and Kieran Foster are 4-1 as a doubles pair this year.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BUCKNELL: The Mountaineers are 2-19 all-time against Bucknell since moving to NCAA Division I in 1888-89. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since a 4-0 Bucknell win on April 10, 2019. The Mount's last victory in the series was a 5-4 win on March 14, 1994.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES VS. GEORGETOWN: Georgetown holds a 16-1 lead in the all-time series in the Mount's Division I era (since 1988-89). The Mount's lone win in the series with a 6-3 victory on October 10, 1990. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since a 7-0 Georgetown win on March 28, 2007.
