EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 30, 2023) –
Michael Chipi once again paced the field for Mount St. Mary's cross country, finishing in 18
th place at the Paul Short Run. Competing in the Brown Division, the men's team took 30
th in the 8k while the women's time finished 38
th in the 6k.
Chipi ran the race in 25:22.4, racing as high as eighth place on the third split at the 6.3K mark. His finish was the best for a Mount men's performer at Paul Short since Will Merritt, who also took 18
th back in 2018.
Niels Peeters took 108
th in the field with a time of 26:17.6, followed by
Kevin Zaleski (237
th, 27:28.4),
Gavin Gallo (251
st, 27:39.8) and
EJ Villaver (252
nd, 27:57.3) to round out the scoring.
The Mount women were led by
Chloe McCarthy, finishing 102
nd in the 6K with a mark of 23:24.1.
Mary Campbell was two seconds behind her (23:26.4) to finish in 108
th.
