Montgomery, N.Y. (September 16, 2023)—Michael Chipi again paced the Mount St. Mary's Cross Country teams, finishing in fourth place at the Manhattan Fall XC Invitational held at Twin Ponds on the Farm.  The Mount men's team finished in seventh place in the field of 20 teams while the women finished tied for ninth in a field of 19.
Chipi traversed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:01.5 to finish in fourth place out of 189 runners in the field.Â
Kevin Zaleski was the Mount's second-fastest finisher placing 53
rd with a time of 26:38.6.Â

Rider took home first place in the men's standings with 43 points, followed by Canisius (65), Siena (68), NYU (84), Marist (149), Fordham (167), Mount St. Mary's (214), NJIT (259), Manhattan (270), Fairfield (293), Quinnipiac (301), Fairleigh Dickinson (325), Felician (413), Kean (472), Manhattanville (459), St. Thomas Aquinas (493), John Jay (512), Hunter (517), Dominican (N.Y.) (530) and Brooklyn (595).
The women's team was paced by
Elizabeth Freymann who placed 42
nd with a time of 22:55.0 in the field of 193 runners. Teammate
Chloe McCarthy was close behind, finishing 49
th in a time of 23:08.8. Â
Mary Campbell (75
th, 24:08.1),
Riley Bell (102
nd, 25:10.8) and
Erin Billigmeier (103
rd, 25:20.4) rounded out the Mount's top five.
Quinnipiac took home first in the team standings with 31 points, followed by NYU (56), Rider (105), Siena (106), Canisius (108), Manhattan (171), Fordham (199), Marist (275), Mount St. Mary's (281), Fairfield (281), NJIT (202), St. Thomas Aquinas (365), Felician (378), Hunter (494), Kean (496), Fairleigh Dickinson (501), John Jay (504), Manhattanville (513) and Dominican (N.Y.) (545).
The meet was a preview for the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships which will be hosted by Manhattan on October 28 on the same course. The Mount is back in action on Saturday, September 30, at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
