New York, N.Y. (February 19, 2023)—Mount St. Mary's collected six gold medals to highlight a successful final day of the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. In the team scores, the Mountaineers earned a second-place finish in the men's team standings while the women's team finished in third place. The meet was held at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory.
Freshman
Zionna Perez-Tucker took home a pair of major awards, winning both the Women's Track Rookie of the Meet and the women's Track Most Outstanding Performer, after winning both the 60m and 200m.Â
Dylan LaNoue was named the Men's Field Most Outstanding Performer after winning the high jump and the triple jump.
Richard Gilchrist broke the MAAC and his own Mount St. Mary's school record by winning the 60m hurdles. Gilchrist had a winning time of 7.85 seconds, besting the MAAC record by .07 seconds. Teammate
Will Stephenson finished in third place in the event with a mark of 8.28 seconds. Gilchrist added a fifth-place nod in the 60m dash with a mark of 6.94 seconds.
Todd Charles proved to be the fastest in the 60m dash, clocking a time of 6.77 seconds to take home the gold medal. Charles added a bronze medal in the 200m, posting a third-place time of 21.79 seconds.Â
LaNoue followed his gold medal in the high jump yesterday with another gold medal today, winning the triple jump with a leap of 15.07m (49' 5.5"). The Mount nearly swept the podium in the triple jump with
D.J. Hamilton finishing second (14.39m, 47' 2.5") and
Cyre Hooper fourth (14.05m, 46' 1.5".
Arran Fahey brought home gold in the pole vault with a winning vault of 4.75m (15' 7").Â
Carter Holsinger was third in the pole vault (4.60m, 15' 1") while
Matthew Grossman also scored with an eight-place finish in the event.

Rider won the men's title with 207 points with the Mount collecting 140 points for the second-place nod. Iona (105), Manhattan (80), Siena (45), Saint Peter's (31), Canisius (27) and Marist (24) rounded out the men's scoring.
Perez-Tucker took home a pair of gold medals to lead the women's team. Perez-Tucker won the 60m dash in a time of 7.59 seconds while capturing the 200m dash with a mark of 24.65 seconds.Â
Logan Hart took home a silver medal in the triple jump (11.39m, 37' 4.5') with teammate
Jovana Miloradovic finishing fourth (11.31m, 37' 1.5"). Other point scores included

Jasmine Kidd (7
th in the 400m) and
Keighan DeCoff (8
th in the shot put).
Jasmine Kidd finished seventh in the 200m,
Dominique Jeffery was sixth in the 400m.
Rider won the women's title as well with 193 points, beating second-place Quinnipiac by 14 points. The Mount's 82 points were good for third place, followed by Manhattan (47), Iona (47), Siena (43), Saint Peter's (43), Canisius (13) and Marist (9).
