EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 28, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's cross country took home a sixth place finish for the men's team and a ninth place finish for the women at the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships in Montgomery, New York.
Niels Peeters was the top finisher on either side, running the men's 8K in 25:34.6 to come in 16
th place.
Elizabeth Freymann led the women's 6K for the Mount with a time of 23:33.9, landing 41
st among the group.
Point scorers for the men included
Kevin Zaleski (27:36.5),
Seth Lassiter (28:06.7),
Gavin Gallo (28:09.6), and
Alessandro Campagna (28:44.9).
Mary Campbell (24:01.9),
Riley Bell (25:51.4),
Ellie Dorian (26:23.9), and
Erin Billigmeier (26:30.1) all factored in the scoring for the women's race.
The women improved on their 2022 performance, jumping up one spot. The men's team matched their efforts from the previous year.
