EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 20, 2023) – Seeking a road win for the first time this season, Mount St. Mary's women's basketball also hopes to avoid a losing streak as they square off with the Saint Peter's Peacocks.

MOUNT UPDATE

Michaela Harrison posted 29 points, making 11 buckets with seven from long distance, but Marist got 44 points from Kiara Fisher, allowing the Red Foxes to depart Emmitsburg with an 83-77 win.

Harrison now stands within 100 points of passing Kia Williams for fourth on the team's all-time scoring list. Teammate Aryna Taylor added back-to-back double digit efforts in the past two contests to crack the top 50 scoring list for the Mountaineers.

Thursday's defeat marked the third time in the tenure of Coach Antoine White that the Mount lost despite scoring 70 or more and holding a halftime lead. The loss came as Marist posted a 21-0 run between the third and fourth quarters.

SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS

The road has been a difficult one for Saint Peter's during the 2022-23 season as the Peacocks continue to seek their first win. Their last victory as a program came March 8th of last year in the MAAC Tournament over Marist.

Jada Williams is the lone Peacocks player in double figures, averaging 11.5 points per game. Williams – a sophomore from Gloucester Catholic – also leads in rebounding with 104 boards on the season.

Saint Peter's played Quinnipiac last Thursday, falling 62-45. Williams had 13 points with three-point specialist Rachel Kuhl adding 10 more.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

In the previous nine matchups, Saint Peter's holds a 6-3 advantage. All the Mount's wins have come when the Peacocks travel to Emmitsburg. The first meeting was a home contest in 1975 and the most recent was a road game in 1992.

LOOKING AHEAD

Saturday marks the first of a two-game road trip, which picks up again next Thursday (Jan. 26) at Fairfield.
