Beverly, Mass. (February 26, 2022)—The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team lost a Northeast Conference match at Merrimack on Saturday night at the Bass River Tennis Club. The Mount falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in NEC play this season.
Merrimack swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Mount's No. 1 tandem of
Christos Dagklis and
Russell Armstrong fell 6-4 to Jan Semerak and Jonathan Garcia.
Filippos Zachiotis and
Giovanni Abriola lost to Conrad Koch and Keita Duclos at No. 2, 6-4, while
Jarrett Karnibad and
Marcel Cronin were defeated, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot by Henrik Lindeman and Valentin Riveros.
In singles play, Zachiotis had the strongest performance for the Mount, falling in three sets to Semerak, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Cronin fell to Riveros, 7-5, 6-4, at the No.4 spot in a tough matchup as well.
