Men Sixth, Women 10th in First Showing at MAAC Championships

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 29, 2022) – In their first-ever running at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, the Mount St. Mary's men's cross country team finished in sixth place while the women came in 10th.
 
Molly Connelly had the best finish of all the Mount's runners, coming in 13th place in the 6K while earning a time of 22:15.9. The top 15 placement earned the senior All-MAAC honors. On the men's side, John Wang registered a 25:31 in the 8K to lead that side.
 
Accumulating a total of 192 points, all five of the men's scorers posted top 50 times. John Ruona finished second among the team with a 26:15.0 for 39th place, followed by Michael Chipi (26:18.9, 41st), Kevin Zaleski (26:27.3, 43rd) and Paul Fagnano (26:29.7, 44th).
 
The women's team received point scoring efforts from Ellie Dorian (25:06.2, 58th), Mary Campbell (25:23.8, 61st), Erin Billigmeier (25:45.9, 65th) and Maeve Parrish (26:36.8, 67th).
 
Iona captured its 32nd consecutive MAAC men's cross country title with 17 points. Quinnipiac took homw the women's title with 26 points.
 
The 2022-23 indoor track season opens with the Bucknell Bison Opener and the Navy Invitational December 2nd and 3rd.
