Stevenson, Md. (September 11, 2021)—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Shannon Henretty Invitational hosted by Stevenson University on Saturday morning.
Chris Diaz finished fourth overall to pace the men's team while
Emma Strickland was the women's team's top finisher.
Diaz completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 29:35.85 to pace the Mountaineer men's team, finishing fourth overall in the field.
Dominic Amilcare was seventh with a time of 30:23.66 while
Brendan Duff (11
th, 30:55.92),
Jake Cuzick (12
th, 31:28.71) and
Elliott Lynn Jr. (16
th, 32:34.12) rounded out the Mount's top five runners.
Strickland led a group of four Mountaineers who finished in consecutive order with her eighth-place nod. She had a time of 28:18.48 and was followed by
Emily Klotz (9
th, 28:21.31),
Elizabeth Bomberger (10
th, 28:54.81) and
Makenna Miller (11
th, 29:20.37).
Trinity Imes rounded out the Mount's top five by finishing 17
th on the six-kilometer course with a time of 30:48.15.
The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, September 25, when they preview the Northeast Conference Championship course by heading to the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
