Box Score EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 8, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse scores the last five goals to come back from 8-4 to win 9-8 in overtime after
Beanie Colson scores the game-winner in overtime with five seconds remaining. The Mountaineers were led by
Alayna Pagnotta, who scored two goals and tallied two assists, including the game-winning assist.
Sara Moeller and Colson each added two goals to guide the Mountaineers to their 14th straight win, a new program record.
Kaitlyn Ridenour won the NEC Tournament MVP after causing three turnovers, picking up five ground balls, and winning six draw controls in the playoffs. The Mount outshot the Seahawks 27-26, with the Mount having a 21-13 advantage in shots on goal. This is the Mount's first NEC title since 2005.
Wagner's Megan Greco led all players with five goals, while Megan Drum added two goals and two draw controls.

Jenna Oler made five saves for the Mountaineers, and Lauren DiStefano made 12 saves for the Seahawks.
The Mount got off to a great start scoring two goals in the first five minutes to hop out to a 2-0 lead. Wagner responded with four goals of their own to take the lead. The run started with Greco's first goal and ended with Drum's second goal to make it 4-2 with 9:19 remaining. Moeller scored her first goal about a minute later to cut the lead down to one, but the Seahawks extended the lead back to two going into halftime at 5-3.
Out of the break, Wagner continued where they left off and scored two more goals to make it 7-3 with about 20 minutes remaining. The Offensive Player of the Year,
Kate Kinsella, scored her only game of the contest on a free position shot to make it 7-4. Greco scored her fifth goal to give the Seahawks an 8-4 lead with 18:50. Pagnotta scored two quick goals 31 seconds apart to make it 8-6, but after the second goal, the game went into a 30-minute lightning delay. After the team got back on the field, Colson scored her first goal after she scored off a rebound to cut the lead down to one. Moeller scored to tie the game up at eight with 5:28 remaining after beating her defender and fired it far post to beat the goalie. Both teams had late chances to score the game-winner, but turnovers and missed opportunities forced the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Mount had the first chance after winning the draw control, but
Jordan Groover put the shot off the post. Wagner had three shots but could not score, and the Mount countered them with about 20 seconds left. Pagnotta found Colson cutting to the middle, and she fired a shot past the goalie to win the NEC Championship.
