EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 2, 2021) – This afternoon the Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse team handles CCSU 20-2 and stays perfect in the NEC. The Mount improves their overall record to 7-2 and 6-0 in the NEC. Jordan Butler led the Mountaineers with four goals, while Kate Kinsella scored two goals and tallied two assists to lead the Mountaineers' offense. Erin Anderson led the Mount in assists with three assists and scoring one goal as well. The Mount outshot the Blue Devils 36-9 today and had 26 shots on goal compared to seven for CCSU.

The Mount's Jenna Oler made one save in the first half, then Madison Bradley made four saves in the second half for the Mountaineers. Cooper Cowdin made six saves on the day for the Blue Devils. Morgan Sinton scored the only two goals for the Blue Devils.

Anderson took only two minutes to score the first goal for the Mountaineers. Beanie Colson scored less than three minutes later to make it 2-0. Dani Donoghue scored her second goal of the year to extend the lead to three goals only 21 seconds later. Zoe Hurlburt and Butler scored 24 seconds apart to give the Mountaineers a five goal lead in less than six minutes.

The Mount scored their sixth goal when Sara Moeller found Alayna Pagnotta cutting in the middle and fired a shot past the goalie. Kinsella scored her only two goals of the game about a minute apart to make it 8-0 midway through the first half. Moeller scored 13 seconds later to extend the lead to nine. The Blue Devils scored their only goal in the first half to make it 9-1.

The Mount closed out the first half on a 3-0 run. The run started with Christina Haspert's first collegiate goal to put the lead back to nine. Butler scored the final two goals of the half to make it 12-1 going into the locker room.

The Blue Devils came out of the locker room and scored their second and final goal of the game to reduce their deficit to ten. Butler scored her final goal of the game to make it 13-2. Pagnotta scored the only man advantage goal of the day to extend the lead to 12 goals, then Colson scored the only free position goal of the day to make the score 15-2.

Moeller deked the goalie when she was running around the cage and slotted home her second goal of the game. Anna McQuay scored her second goal of the season to make the score 17-2 in favor of the Mountaineers. Moeller completed her hat trick to make it 18-2 for the Mountaineers. McQuay scored her second goal of the game to make it 19-2. Donoghue scored the final goal of the game with two minutes left to reach the final score of 20-2.
