Box Score EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 10, 2021) – The Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse team had seven different players score multiple goals as the Mount cruises past CCSU 23-4 to extend the winning streak to nine games.
Beanie Colson led the Mountaineers in total points with six after she scored two goals and tallied four assists, while
Sara Moeller contributes five total points with two goals and three assists.
Zoe Hurlburt and
Christina Haspert each scored four goals to lead the Mountaineers in scoring. The Mount outshot the Blue Devils 43-11 with a 35 to seven advantage in shots on goal.
The Blue Devils had Morgan Stinton score two goals, while Katelyn Parker and Eliz Fino each scored today.
The Mount's
Madison Bradley made three saves in her first career start, meanwhile, Cooper Cowdin made 12 saves in net for CCSU.
Hurlburt gave the Mount a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes after scoring two goals. Sinton scored about six minutes later to cut the lead to one goal, but
Kate Kinsella scored 29 seconds later to restore the lead to two. Sinton scored her second goal of the day to make it 3-2, but the Mount then went on a 10-0 run to end the first half that lasted about 13 and a half minutes. Hurlburt completed her hat trick after Colson found her rolling to the middle and fired a shot past Cowdin to take a 4-2 lead. Pagnotta scored two goals to increase the lead to four. Colson and
Jordan Butler scored 18 seconds apart to increase the lead to 8-2.
Moeller scored her first goal of the game to make it 9-2 with 10:15 remaining in the first half. Hurlburt scored her fourth goal of the half to extend the lead to eight. Haspert scored on the man advantage to make it 11-2.
Jacque Pino scored her first goal of the season on a free position attempt to increase the lead to 10. Kinsella finished off the first half with a man-down goal to give the Mount a 13-2 lead going into the locker room.
The Mount came out of halftime with a 3-0 run to make it 16-2.
Erin Anderson scored her first goal a minute and a half into the second half. Kinsella and Pagnotta completed both of their hat tricks to make the lead 14. The Blue Devils scored their first goal of the second half to cut the lead to 13. Anderson and Haspert both scored their second goals of the game to give the Mount an 18-3 lead midway through the second half.
Colson tallied her last point after she scored her second goal when she ran into the middle and Moeller found her in stride, she then beat the goalie near post. Ana McQuay scored her fourth goal of the season to expand the lead to 17. The Blue Devils scored their final goal of the day with 7:01 remaining to make it 20-4. Haspert scored two more goals, while Moeller scored the final goal of the game to reach the final score of 23-4.
The Mountaineers return home to face Bryant at Waldron Family Stadium on Wednesday, April 14th at 3:00 p.m.
