Box Score EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 27, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse cruises past Bryant 20-11 as five different players score a hat trick this afternoon. Jordan Butler led the charge with six goals today, the most goals she has scored in a game this season. Kate Kinsella added four goals and two assists, while Sara Moeller contributed three goals and tailed two assists to guide the Mountaineers to their six straight win. The Mount is now 6-2 overall with a 5-0 NEC record to keep hold of first place in the conference.
Jenna Oler and Madison Bradley made a combined 13 saves for the Mountaineers, while Bryant's Sam Ciancio made five saves and Giana Kapoosuzain made eight saves for the Bulldogs today.
Bryant was led by Alexa Weber, who scored three goals and tallied one assist, while Cassidy Burns scored two goals and tallied one assist.
The Mount got off to a quick start by scoring three goals in about two minutes. Butler scored her first goal of the day on a free position attempt to give the Mount a 1-0 lead. Alayna Pagnotta scored two goals 16 seconds apart to give the Mountaineers a 3-0 lead. Bryant's Natalie Langella scored two goals 40 seconds apart to cut the lead down to one. The Mount responded with two goals of their own with a man advantage goal from Beanie Colson and Butler's second goal of the day to give the Mount a 5-2 lead.
Bryant's Alexa Weber scored two goals to cut the lead back down to one. Kinsella scored her first goal of the day after she received a nice pass from Moller to beat the goalie and give the Mount a 6-4 lead. Weber completed her hat trick 23 seconds later to put the lead back to one. Bryant then tied up the game at 6-6 after Devon Bloen scored her first goal of the game. The Mount regained the lead on a man advantage opportunity from Moller then Butler scored 10 seconds later to give the Mount a 8-6 lead.
Bryant scored another goal to reduce the Mount's lead back to one. The Mount went on a 4-0 run to pull away from the Bulldogs. The run started with two goals from Butler and the other two goals came from Colson, all of those goals were with a man advantage. Bryant ended the run when then scored a man down to make it 12-8. Pagnotta scored with 27 seconds left to extend the lead to six and give the Mountaineers a 13-6 lead at half.
The second half started with the Mount and Bryant trading goals to keep the lead at six. The Mount scored two goals with Moeller and Butler scoring again to make the score 17-9. Bryant scored less than a minute later to reduce the lead to seven. The Mount and Bryant exchanged goals for the final time to keep the advantage at seven. Kinsella then ended the game with a three minute second half hat trick to seal the game for the Mountaineers. Kinsella's best goal was her second goal when she a defender all over her and pushed her off and rifled a shot underneath the crossbar.
The Mount's next game is at Waldron Family Stadium on Friday, April 2
