Box Score EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 13, 2021) – The Mount Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team has won three games in a row after another great offensive performance. Kate Kinsella lead the charge with five goals and one assist, while Jordan Butler had three goals and two assists to help the Mountaineers go 2-0 in the NEC. Haley Bartlett led the Warriors with three goals today.
Jenna Oler played the first half and made four saves, while Madison Bradley played the second half and made two saves for the Mountaineers. Gabby Cacciola made five saves for Merrimack in net.
Merrimack started out the game with a goal in the first 40 seconds to give them their only lead of the day at 1-0. The Mount responded with a 7-0 run that lasted for 12 minutes and 20 seconds. The run started with a nice counterattack from Kinsella who found Alayna Pagnotta wide open in the middle and put it past the goalie. Kinsella then got a goal of her own to give the Mount a 2-1 lead. Butler found an open Erin Anderson in front of the net and Anderson put it home to extend the lead to two. Beanie Colson scored the next goal on a free position shot to make it 4-1. Anderson scored twice and Zoe Hurlburt scored to finish the run and give the Mountaineers a 7-1 lead.
Merrimack scored two goals to cut the lead down to four, but the Mountaineers went on a 6-0 run to close out the half. Kinsella started off the run with a solo effort to beat multiple defenders and beat the goalkeeper to make it 8-3. Butler scored two goals to increase the lead to seven for the Mount and Kinsella scored two more goals to make it 12-3 before half. The last goal of the half came with 30 seconds left when Colson cut into the middle and Hurlburt found her in stride, which Colson then rifled a shot past the goalie to make it 13-3 at half.
The Mountaineers picked up right where they left off, starting the second half with a quick goal from Jordan Groover. Hurlburt scored her second goal of the day to make it 15-3 for the Mountaineers. Merrimack scored to make it 15-4, but soon after that Sara Moeller scored her first goal of the game to put the lead back to 12. The Mount and Merrimack traded goals to make it 17-5. Kinsella scored an extra man advantage goal to extend the lead to 13. Anna McQuay scored her first collegiate goal and Dani Donoghue scored the final goal to make it 20-5.
