COMPLETE RESULTS
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (March 12, 2021)--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field team returned to competition for the first time since May of 2019 at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge today. After having last year's outdoor season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mount had several strong performances in their return to the track.
Emily Eckard had a second-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.38m (139'). In the long jump,
Emma Espina Aller was fourth with a mark of 5.21m (17' 1.25") with teammate
Faith Edwards right behind in fifth at 5.17m (16' 11.5"). The women's 4x800m relay squad of
Mary Campbell,
Tess Long,
Erin Billigmeier and
Emma Strickland finished first with a mark of 10:05.44. Advancing to the finals tomorrow were
Sarah Purdy in the 100m hurdles and
Dominique Jeffery in the 100m dash.
For the men's team, the 4x800m relay team of
John Wang,
Brandon Briscoe,
Khalil Reid and
Colin Kelly also took home first, finishing in a time of 8:00.83. The 4x200m relay team of
James Munlyn,
Todd Charles,
Lewis Kungu and
Justyn Seivright placed second in a time of 1:30.34.Â
Andrew Sobocinski was fifth in the javelin with amark of 51.96m (170' 6").
