EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 20, 2021) – Navy was too much for the Mountaineers as the Mount loses to Navy 10-8 on Saturday. Sara Moeller, Jordan Butler, and Jordan Groover each scored two goals, while Zoe Hurlburt, Beanie Colson contribute a goal apiece.

Ellie Lecker had a game high four goals and Marina Lazarides scored three to guide Navy to a victory.

Jenna Oler made five saves for the Mountaineers, while Abbi Young made seven saves for Navy.

Navy started off the game with a goal from Lazarides to go up early, but the Mount responded with a goal from Butler. Navy and Mount exchanged goals multiple times to stay tied until 4-4. Right before the half, Navy goes on a three goal run to make it 7-4 at half time.

The Mount comes out of half and starts a four goal steak that spans for seven and a half minutes. Colson kicked off the run with goal four minutes into the second half. Hurlburt scored from a free position shot to cut the deficit down to one. Groover scored two goals to give the Mountaineers an 8-7 lead halfway through the second.

Navy goes on 3-0 run to end the game with Lecker scoring the game winning goal with 6:38 remaining. Gil Eby scored the final goal of the game to secure a 10-8 win for the Midshipmen.

The Mount returns to action at home against American on Saturday February 27^th at Waldron Family Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
