Bethlehem, Pa. (October 1, 2021)—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Paul Short Run today on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University.Â
John Wang paced the Mount men in the Men's Brown Race while
Lesha Kay led the Mount women in the Women's Brown Race.
Wang completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:25.7 to finish 21
st in the field of 266 runners.Â
Paul Fagnano finished in 71
st place with a mark of 25:59.9 while teammate
Colin Kelly was the Mount's next finisher, traversing the course in a time of 26:06.1 to finish 81
st overall. The remainder of the Mount's top five finishers include
John Ruona (26:40.4, 143
rd) and
Kevin Zaleski (26:49.1, 158
th).
The Mount finished in 14
th place in the team standings out of 41 teams with 457 points. Southern Connecticut St. won the team title with 90 points. Â
Kay led the Mount women's finishers by placing 111
th in the field of 342 runners with a time of 23:08.9 for the six-kilometer course. Rounding out the Mount's top five finishers were

Michelle Weaver (23:47.2, 177
th),
Emma Strickland (25:06.7, 275
th) and
Molly Connelly (25:08.5, 277
th).
The Mountaineers finished in 34
th out of 39 teams in the women's race with Miami (Fla.) taking the team title.
Mount St. Mary's is set to return to action on Saturday, October 16, at the Aubrey Shank Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College.
