MOUNT ST. MARY'S (1-6, 0-2 NEC) at LONGWOOD (4-4, 0-0 Big South)
Farmville, Va. | Lancer Courts
Sunday, March 1st | 9:00 AM
MOUNT UPDATE
The Mount men's tennis team will look to spring break as a time to build momentum before heading into Northeast Conference play at the end of March. This past weekend, the Mountaineers fell to Merrimack 7-0 and University of Sciences 4-3. After battling the Warriors on Saturday afternoon, the Mount had a tough one-match loss to the Devils. Jarrett Karnibad, Gabriel Santos, and Alonso Garcia all had singles victories in the loss on Saturday night.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
Longwood comes into Sunday's matchup having dropped two out of the last three dual matches. After defeating North Carolina Central 7-0, the Lancers fell to Campbell yesterday 5-2. Amadeo Blasco (4-3) and Guillermo Cagigas (5-3) have been the top two players for the Lancers at #1 and #2 singles. The two have combined for a 5-2 record at #1 doubles, so they will be a tough battle for the Mountaineers on Sunday.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the second all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Lancers. Longwood won the only meeting between the two schools 4-3 back in October of 2015.
