MOUNT UPDATE
The Mount women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 20-8 win over UMBC on Wednesday afternoon. Jordan Butler (5g, 3a), Beanie Colson (3g, 1a), Kate Kinsella (3g, 1a), and Alayna Pagnotta (3g) all registered hat tricks in the win. Zoe Hurlburt (2g, 2a), Jordan Groover (2g), and Carly Miller (1g, 2a) each had multi-point games. Jenna Oler came up big with ten saves in net while Kaitlyn Ridenour had two caused turnovers and five draw controls for the Mountaineers.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Binghamton comes into this weekend's matchup sitting at 0-2 after falling to Bucknell (16-9) in their season opener and getting trounced by Syracuse (20-2) last weekend. Junior attacker Paige Volkmann currently leads the Bearcats in points with four goals and one assist. Senior goalie Taylor Passuello has started two games in net and has allowed 28 goals with a 28.2% save percentage. Binghamton has struggled in draw controls so far this season going 15-for-49, but they have won the groundball battle in each of their first two games.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the third all-time meeting between the Bearcats and the Mountaineers in a series that is currently tied 1-1. After stomping Binghamton 26-1 back in 2002, the Mountaineers would not play the Bearcats until April of 2017. In this matchup, the Bearcats dropped the Mount 13-6 when Carly Miller and Kate Kinsella were freshman, and each had a goal apiece in the loss.
