Mount St. Mary's senior Alexa Quintanilla Headed to Prestigious 2019 Oracle ITA Masters Tournament

September 24, 2019—Mount St. Mary's women's tennis senior Alexa Quintanilla is set to compete at the 2019 Oracle ITA Masters which will be held September 26-29 at the Malibu Racquet Club and Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.

ABOUT THE ORACLE ITA MASTERS

  • After its inaugural event in 2015, the Oracle ITA Masters expanded the men's and women's singles draws in 2016 to feature 32-players per gender. Invitations are sent based on conference affiliation, with each conference having the opportunity to send its top returning player.
  • Since its expansion in 2016, the Oracle ITA Masters has also become the only collegiate tennis event to feature mixed doubles, with conference representatives partnering and at-large/wild card participants pairing with each other or with conference representatives without a counterpart.
  • The men's and women's singles champions earn automatic entry into the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which will be held November 6-10 in Newport Beach, California.

ABOUT ALEXA QUINTANILLA

  • Quintanilla has been named First Team All-Northeast Conference in singles in each of the past two seasons after earning All-Rookie team honors as a freshman.  She also was named All-NEC in doubles with playing partner Hannah Davis.
  • She had the third-best winning percentage in NEC play (.588) at the No.1 singles position in 2018-19.
