Five Mountaineers Collect Women's Tennis All-MAAC Honors

April 23, 2026—Five Mountaineers were named to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Conference teams, announced today by the league office.  Freshman Eirini Tsakiri was named First Team All-MAAC in singles while Margherita Trolese and Venus Tang collected Third Team All-MAAC honors in singles as well.  Emma Perkins and Anna Barlini were named First Team All-MAAC in doubles.

Tsakiri finished the regular season with a 14-9 mark in singles competition, including an 11-9 record in dual matches.  She went 6-2 against MAAC foes, playing mostly of her matches at the No. 2 spot in the lineup.  Tang went 15-14 overall in singles play, including a 13-7 record in dual matches and a 6-2 mark against MAAC competition. She played most of her matches at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.  Trolese, playing mostly at the No. 4 spot, went 12-9 overall in singles play this season, including 12-4 in dual matches.  She had a 5-1 record in MAAC matches.  Perkins and Barlini played at No. 2 doubles, finishing the regular season with a 13-12 record as a tandem, including a 12-7 record in dual matches.  The pair had a 7-1 record in MAAC matches this season.

The league also announced the All-Academic Team with five Mountaineers earning the honor.  Emma Kaden, Perkins, Bella Pescatore, Kaajal Ramisetty and Trolese all were named to the All-Academic squad.  To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

The Mountaineers closed the season by winning 11 of their final 12 matches, continuing a remarkable surge that saw the team finish 13-8 overall and 6-2 in the MAAC in the regular season.  The 13 victories are the program's most since the 2009-10 team went 16–9, and represent an 11-win improvement from last season's 2–19 campaign.

The Mount earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming MAAC Championships and will face third-seeded Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Princeton Racquet and Recreation Fieldhouse.
