Baltimore, Md. (September 21, 2019) – The Mount St. Mary's tandem of Jean Armstrong and Evan Hine advanced to the finals of the Loyola Men's Tennis Invitational earlier today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Armstrong and Hine opened the day with a quarterfinal win over Morgan State's Oguzhan Ceylan and Sebastian Lopez, 2-1. The Mount swept the doubles point, 6-0, while Armstrong downed Ceylan, 6-1 (ret. injury).
- The Mount duo advanced to the final with a 2-0 win over Loyola's Skyler Gates and Matt Fitzmaurice. The Mount pair won doubles, 6-4, with Armstrong clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Gates.
- The Mount's Jackson Wood and Alonso Garcia moved to the semifinals with a 2-1 win over Loyola's Benny Glezer and Kyle Gower. After dropping the doubles point, 6-4, the Mount rallied to win both singles matches. Wood defeated Glezer, 6-4, 6-3, with Garcia defeating Gower.
- Wood and Garcia fell in the semifinals to Morgan State's Nihit Rawal and Shrey Gupta, 3-0.
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
