MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount is coming off a 1-0-1 week that saw a win at Merrimack (2-1) and a tie at Bryant (1-1, 2ot). McKayla Bates scored her first collegiate goal with about 10 minutes remaining to lift the Mount to the 2-1 win at Merrimack. Brianna Luongo added a pair of assists in the contest. Freshman Kalli Bell's first collegiate goal gave the Mount an early 1-0 lead at Bryant. Maggie Barron started both games in goal last weekend, and has a .827 save percentage and a 1.70 goals against average in eight games (seven starts) this season.
ABOUT THE SHARKS: Long Island enters Friday's game with a 2-9-1 overall record and an 1-3-0 mark in the Northeast Conference. The Sharks lost both games last weekend, falling to Saint Francis U (2-0) and Robert Morris (4-2). LIU's NEC victory came against St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-2, on September 27. Jenna Duffy and Kendra Oldroyd lead the team with two goals each while Kayla DeTreux has handled goalkeeper duties with a 2.25 GAA and a .729 save percentage.
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mountaineers trail in the all-time series, 15-5-2, to Long Island. This will be the first time the Mount has played LIU since the school merged its athletic programs (Post and LIU Brooklyn). Last year, the Mount tied Long Island, 1-1, on September 28.
